TANZANIA EXCURSION PROGRAMS:

We at African Dream Adventure Safaris (ADAS) believe all our clients should leave our country with the best possible experience and a positive image of the country.  To make sure our clients get this we like to connect them with our local people from different tribes and allow them to observe some of the local traditions of Tanzania.
Tanzania is blessed with more than 120 tribes in an area of around 937,062 square kilometers and We would like to share with you some of our best selected tribes and villages to give you the ultimate exposure to our people.

We believe if one comes to Tanzania you should meet Tanzanians and experience their hospitality along with observing its vast wildlife. We can organize trips to villages before, after or mid-safari depending upon your preference.  If you desire we can make the arrangements so that you don’t miss out on this important opportunity.

We suggest you read the descriptions below and choose which ones you find most interesting.  Then we would be happy to help design your tour.  All of the mentioned villages can be easily reached and a tour can take anywhere from one to three days or longer if so desired. Some of our profits will go to Village development program including Schools, Hospitals and other projects which aim at supporting the area where the village is located.

Materuni Waterfalls and Coffee Day Tour Trip

Tour Description:

Materuni Village is located 15 km north of Moshi, It is the last village before Kilimanjaro national park. Before you reach the village you will drive slowly across the banana farms and local rural villages. The people are very warm and welcoming, inviting you in their local Materuni home.

Tour Activities can include:

You will meet the village guide (English speaking) that will take you for a walk around the village. After a short briefing he will guide you on a 40 minutes’ hike to the waterfalls. This magical green environment with tropical trees, will lead to the impressive 80 meters high waterfall. Here you can take a moment to relax and swim, so please bring your swimsuit.

After you decide to leave this breath taking place behind we will continue hiking back to the village. Where the local community will demonstrate you the process of making Arabica coffee. It’s time to taste it and warm up the body again. If you want, you can take some coffee beans with you!


Longido Cultural Tourism Program

Experience one of Africa's most fascinating cultures, the Maasai with a visit to Longido.  A cultural tour of Longido will give you the opportunity to experience traditional Maasai culture and interact with Maasai warriors.  Spend a day walking around the extensive plains of Longido Mountain and get some insight into traditional African culture.

Tours activities can include:
  o Walking safaris with Maasai warriors over the slopes of Longido Mountain
  o Bird-watching walks over the plains
  o A climb up the impressive Longido Mountain, through dense natural forest
  o A view into the culture and daily life of the Maasai
  o Sipping tea with Maasai people in a real Maasai Boma
  o Explanation of various plants in the surrounding area by a local guide

Tourism profits will go towards the construction of a cattle dip.  This project will ensure that the Maasai can effectively continue their livelihood through a healthy herd of cattle and goat free of tick-borne disease.

Lake Natron and Climbing Mount Oldoinyo Lengai Excursion Program

Tour Activities can include:
   o A Visiting Ngaresero Huge Waterfall and Natron Lake shore walking for taking photos of Flamingoes .
   o A climb up  Mount Ol Doinyo Lengai, the active volcanic mountain.
   o A view into the culture and daily life of the Maasai.

The profit will be used for running a kindergarten for Maasai children.  Your visit helps us to improve the quality of our children’s education.
